About Us

Where teen brilliance becomes a movement.

Miss Teen Nigeria was founded with a single conviction - that young women, given the right stage, will rewrite the future of our nation.

Our Story

Born from a question with the power to spark a movement.

Why isn't there a national pageant created specifically for teenagers?

In 2017, at just 17 years old, our founder, Godspower Chinemerem Nwogwugwu, was serving as the Social Prefect of his secondary school. Passionate about leadership and youth development, he successfully organised his school's first-ever beauty pageant, creating a platform that celebrated confidence, talent, and character among students.

Inspired by that experience and after watching the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria competition, he realised that while there were prestigious platforms for adult women, there was no national platform dedicated to empowering teenage girls during one of the most defining stages of their lives.

With little to no financial support and driven solely by vision, determination, and purpose, he founded Miss Teen Nigeria. What began as the dream of a teenager has since evolved into one of Nigeria's leading platforms for teenage leadership, confidence, advocacy, education, and personal development.

Miss Teen Nigeria was built for teenagers, by a teenager. Every challenge faced, every milestone achieved, and every life impacted has been shaped by firsthand understanding of the dreams, struggles, and potential of young people. The journey has been one of resilience, sacrifice, countless sleepless nights, and an unwavering commitment to creating opportunities for the next generation.

Our queens are more than titleholders. They are ambassadors, advocates, and changemakers. Through our flagship advocacy initiative, Beautifully Driven, every contestant is encouraged to champion causes that create lasting impact within their communities, proving that true beauty is measured by purpose and service.

A defining milestone in our journey came with the unveiling of our first official crown, The Nigerian Dream. Debuting in 2017, the crown was generously sponsored by renowned Colombian-Canadian crown designer Jose Saltrez of Southern Crowns. More than a symbol of victory, The Nigerian Dream represents hope, resilience, ambition, and the limitless potential of every Nigerian teenager who dares to dream beyond their circumstances.

Today, Miss Teen Nigeria continues to inspire and empower young women across the country, providing a platform where confidence is nurtured, leadership is developed, voices are amplified, and dreams become reality. As we look to the future, our mission remains unchanged: to raise a generation of young women who lead with purpose, inspire with courage, and create meaningful impact in Nigeria and beyond.
